Case Studies

Real work. Real outcomes.

Every project starts with understanding how a business works and where the biggest improvements can be made.

Here are some examples of recent work, from custom-built tools and booking systems to websites designed for small businesses.

№ 01

Scottish Home Inspections

Client Property snagging & inspection business, Scotland
24–48 hrs From inspection to delivered report
3 min To book an inspection online
Offline Works on site with no signal

The challenge

Scottish Home Inspections needed an end-to-end system to handle the full customer journey, from enquiry through to on-site inspection and final report delivery. Previously, bookings were managed manually, inspection notes lived on paper or in the inspector's head, and there was no central place to track customers or schedule the work.

What was built

Public website

A professional custom-built website covering services, pricing, areas covered, FAQs and contact, SEO-optimised for key Scottish locations.

3-minute booking flow

A custom-built online booking system at booking.scottishhomeinspections.co.uk, streamlined from first enquiry through to confirmed inspection.

Inspector Portal

A central system for managing bookings, quotes, customer history, communications and report delivery: everything in one place, with no double-handling.

Mobile inspection app

Used on-site to capture voice notes, photos and reference building inspection standards. Works fully offline, syncs back automatically, then auto-generates a draft report for the inspector to review and finalise.

The delivered report

Sample inspection report cover, 'Defect Report & Schedule of Snags' with categorised defect counts and property particulars, watermarked as a sample
Auto-generated defect report, delivered within 24–48 hours, with defects categorised by severity and referenced to building standards

Note: Sample report shown for illustration only. Not a real property or inspection.

Silent Auction Manager

Built for Schools, clubs and not-for-profits
Status Built and demonstrated, ready for its first event

The challenge

Many school and community silent auctions still run on paper registration, manual tallying of winning bids and a round of volunteer phone calls after the event. Tracking bidders, working out winners and chasing payment is time-consuming and error-prone, and winners often don't hear until days later.

The solution

We designed and built a web-based Silent Auction Manager that keeps the paper bidding families enjoy, while automating the admin around it: registration, winner identification, payment tracking and reporting. It's designed to work reliably on patchy wifi and to be simple enough for attendees of mixed tech confidence, including grandparents. It has been built, tested and demonstrated to a local school, and is ready for any school, club or community group to use at their next event.

Key features

  • QR code registration: quick, contactless sign-up for attendees on the night
  • Bidder number management: every bidder tracked against a clear number
  • SMS winner notifications: winners texted automatically at the end of the auction
  • Payment and collection tracking: see at a glance who has paid and collected
  • Volunteer role management: assign and manage volunteer access and tasks
  • Audit logging: a clear record of key actions for accountability
  • End-of-event reporting: totals and outcomes ready as soon as the auction closes
  • Privacy-first data deletion: attendee data cleared once the event is done

What it's designed to do

Cut the manual admin, make the night easier for volunteers, and let winners know on the day rather than chasing them with phone calls afterwards. It's reusable, so it can be set up for any school, club or community group's own event.

Design decisions

The decision to keep physical bidding on paper was deliberate. Families enjoy walking around, seeing the items and outbidding each other in person. The digital system handles the administration behind the scenes (registration, item tracking and winner notifications) without replacing the parts of the event that people valued.

This is a good example of using technology where it genuinely helps, without overcomplicating something that already works.

From paddock to picture book

Winnie is a real white Highland calf, born at Cadzow Croft in Victoria's Macedon Ranges in February 2025. Her first weeks became a children's picture book, Winnie is born. The farm needed a way to introduce Winnie to a new audience and build excitement for the book, without losing the farm's own voice.

Project Social media set-up and launch content for Winnie is born
Platforms Facebook, Instagram

The challenge

Cadzow Croft already had a farm audience on Facebook and Instagram, but a children's book speaks to a different crowd: parents, grandparents, teachers and book lovers. Posting book content on the farm accounts risked confusing both audiences, and a brand-new account starts from zero. The launch also had to stay flexible, because the publishing date depended on final print review.

What we did

  • Gave Winnie her own home. A dedicated Facebook Page and Instagram account, set up as a book series and linked to the farm brand.
  • Made her easy to find. Names, bios and categories written with the words people actually search for, such as "children's book" and "Highland calf".
  • Planned the launch. A single content calendar running the book countdown alongside the farm's regular posts, so neither account crowds the other.
  • Created on-brand content. Reels, carousels and an animated talking-Winnie video, with every character, colour and setting matched to the book's illustrations.
  • Connected the two brands. Instagram Collabs, Facebook shares and cross-tagging so each account introduces the other's audience.
  • Kept it in the owner's hands. Simple, repeatable steps and ready-to-post packs, so the farm can keep posting confidently on its own.

The result

Two connected brands telling one clear story, and a library of launch content ready the day the book went live on 23 October 2026.
